Look twice

Attention is more than focus. It is the decision to let something matter long enough to change us.

We often treat attention as a resource to defend or optimize. But attention can also be a gift: to a person, a place, a difficult question, or a small detail that would otherwise pass unnoticed.

A daily practice

Choose one ordinary thing. Stay with it for five minutes longer than feels necessary. Write down what becomes visible only after the first impression has passed.
